Tech Business Analyst

Academian is seeking a Tech Business Analyst to support presales and solution definition activities for technology-focused learning solutions. This role is responsible for capturing, structuring, and communicating requirements, but not for architecting the solution.

You will work closely with the Technology Solutions Architect and cross-functional team members to translate client goals into clear functional requirements, data/interface specifications, user flows, and assumptions that can be costed and built. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and technically fluent.

· Translate client needs into clear, structured documentation for proposals, RFIs, and internal scoping, including narratives, requirement summaries, and high-level process diagrams.

· Support Technology Solution Architects by documenting technical and functional requirements, assumptions, dependencies, and risks discussed during discovery and presales.

· Coordinate the solution documentation workflow, tracking inputs, review comments, and version updates across internal teams to maintain consistency and traceability through proposal and delivery stages.

· Collaborate with internal teams (Technology, Product, Delivery) to consolidate inputs, confirm feasibility, and ensure accurate representation of proposed solution.

· Collaborate with the respective members/teams to draft narratives or summaries for social media, website, or case-study use, highlighting Academian’s technology capabilities and solution outcomes.

· Research and summarize approaches related to learning platforms, analytics, interoperability (APIs, SSO, LTI), data pipelines, and AI-driven personalization to support solution articulation.

· Maintain and update solution libraries, reusable templates, and documentation standards, ensuring all proposal materials reflect current terminology, data points, and compliance notes.

· Create solution and capability presentations, proposals, and other decks, ensuring clarity, technical accuracy, and alignment with Academian’s positioning.

· Facilitate presales-to-delivery handoff by summarizing key requirements, scope boundaries, and validation details for internal teams.

· Participate in client and internal review discussions to verify alignment between stated requirements, proposed solutions, and delivery expectations.

· 3–7 years of experience in a solutions-focused, business analysis, or presales role, ideally within edtech, eLearning, or SaaS sectors.

· Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Demonstrated ability to capture, structure, and communicate business and functional requirements for technology-enabled learning solutions.

· Familiar with APIs, LMS/LXP platforms, system integrations, and education data standards such as LTI, QTI, OneRoster, and Caliper.

· Understanding of data workflows including Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and ETL processes.

· Awareness of Knowledge Graphs, structured data, and semantic relationships in educational tech systems.

· Excelled written and spoken English skills able to produce client-ready documents, articulate technical details clearly, and present persuasively in meetings.

· Strong organisational skills to handle multiple opportunities simultaneously under tight deadlines.

· Comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams in a remote environment.

· Experience in supporting or authoring RFP/RFI responses or client proposals.

· Exposure to AI and analytics-driven solutions in education.
